Downlands College is now accepting enrolment applications for future Prep to Year 3 student cohorts. All enrolment applications are to be submitted online via the online application form.   • WHAT IS THE ENROLMENT PROCESS?

    All applications and supporting documentation are to be submitted online, before the student and family are contacted regarding an enrolment interview. A non-refundable fee of $75 ($150 AUD for International students) will be charged per application. 

    After the enrolment interview, you will be advised in writing of the outcome of the online application and interview. To secure a place at Downlands, parents/carers and the child must sign the Acceptance of Enrolment at Downlands, along with the $500 confirmation fee ($1,500 AUD for International students), within four (4) weeks.

  • WHAT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION WILL I NEED TO SUPPLY?

    Please ensure all supporting documents are submitted as PDF files and that the information submitted is accurate.


    For all online applications please have the scanned copies of the following documents ready to be uploaded: 

    • A copy of your child's birth certificate
    • Where applicable, a copy of your child's Kindergarten progress report
    • Where applicable, a copy of your child's Prep progress report
    • Where applicable, all copies of your child's school reports for Year 1 and Year 2
    • Any other information pertinent in supporting a student's education e.g. specific learning needs, specific medical needs etc. 

    International students  should refer to the Downlands College International Student Enrolment Information.

  • HOW DO I PREPARE FOR AN ENROLMENT INTERVIEW?

    Enrolment interviews are 30 minutes in length and are conducted with Principal Stephen Koch (for Year 7-12 students) or Assistant Principal – Junior School Rebecca Brownhall (for Prep – Year 6 students). You will not need to prepare anything specifically for the interview. If you have been advised that you are missing any supporting documentation by the Enrolments Officer, you will be required to submit this before attending the enrolment interview.

  • WHAT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES?

    At Downlands College we aim to support each and every student on their learning journey. 

    If your child requires  learning support in the classroom, please advise us when submitting the enrolment application. 

    When submitting the application please supply all relevant supporting documentation to assist us in determining the level of support required. 

    In the enrolment interview we will make sure there is a learning support teacher present to answer any questions you may have.


  • WILL THERE BE A BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE?

    We are excited to announce that TeamKids Outside School Hours Care will be our before and after-school care provider.

  • CAN I BOOK A TOUR OF THE COLLEGE?

    We welcome all families wishing to tour our College. Personal College tours are facilitated by the Enrolments team. Tours allow you to experience Downlands College in its truest form and gives your child an opportunity to meet our staff and explore our state-of-the-art facilities. College tours can be booked online here

  • WILL THERE BE A DEDICATED JUNIOR SCHOOL LIBRARY IN THE JUNIOR SCHOOL EXPANSION?

    Our Junior School learning space design has an early years library positioned within the precinct to cater for rich literature and a space to read, reflect and research together as a learning community. Each classroom will also be equipped with its own ‘classroom library area’. 

    Our Junior School also has its own space in the College Library, Cuskelly Library. This will continue to be utilised by our Year 5 and 6 students as they transition within the College towards our middle years of schooling.

  • WILL PREP TO YEAR 3 STUDENTS BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE DOWNLANDS BUS?

    The Downlands College bus service is available to all students, and this is a service available as part of your enrolment at Downlands. It doesn’t attract any additional cost to our families. 

    The expectation for our students in Prep to Year 3 utilising the service, will be that they will need to be accompanied by an adult/ carer or older sibling when waiting at the bus stop and when hoping off the bus. This ensures the safety and routine of the student.

  • ARE STUDENTS REQUIRED TO PARTAKE IN RELIGIOUS MILESTONES?

    Our College offers a sacramental program consisting of Baptism, Reconciliation and Confirmation. These are optional for families to choose to partake in. 

  • WHAT IS THE JUNIOR SCHOOL'S APPROACH TO TECHNOLOGY?

    Every student in the Junior School, Prep to Year 6 will have access to a laptop device. This device will stay at school and be maintained and kept up-to-date by our technology support staff. We also have a strong STEAM  (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) focus in our curriculum design which brings this integration of learning areas to life through Ozo Bots, Bee Bots, Lego Tech kits etc. 

    We also have a focus on design thinking through a framework we have developed to enable the skills of design and reflection to be a part of our learning experiences in an authentic, age-appropriate way.
