Scholarships

Downlands College offers a range of scholarships and these are available for entry into Year 8 and Year 11 intake in future years.

Applications to be considered for a scholarship are available from the College prior to March of the year preceding the enrolment year. Requests for further information on scholarships can also be made here (see below).

Part Scholarships will be awarded for excellence in Academic Achievement, Performing Arts and All Rounder.

Academic Scholarships will be awarded based on performance on the ACER Scholarship exam (Scholarship Selection Test or SST). Performing Arts Scholarships Year 8 and Year 11 2014 will be based on auditions; and All Rounder Scholarships on the strength of the application.

Scholarships 2014

Downlands College offers part scholarships in the Academic category for students entering Year 8 in 2014 and 2015 or Year 11 in 2014, as well as Performing Arts and All Rounder categories for students entering Year 8 in 2014 and Year 11 in 2014.

Academic Scholarship applicants are required to sit the a Scholarship (currently the ACER Scholarship exam (Scholarship Selection Test or SST)), this is generally held in March of the preceding year in which the student begins at Downlands.

Performing Art Scholarship applicants are required to audition two pieces of a contrasting nature, the total audition time is ten minutes.

All Rounder Scholarship applicants are required to submit a resume of achievements with the application form. Irrespective of what school your child attends, it is necessary that you attach full documentation supporting your child’s application. This must cover academic achievement, sporting prowess and leadership/community experiences. It is also advisable to include certificates or awards, NAPLAN results and letters of support from your coaches/teachers.

Applications for Year 8 and Year 11 Academic Scholarship and for Year 8 and Year 11 All Rounder Scholarship are now closed.

All students applying for:

• Year 8 and Year 11 Performing Arts Scholarship will be required to audition on Sunday 21 July 2013. Applications close on Friday 28 June 2013.

• complete the relevant form/s, detailing accomplishments in the areas to be considered. Applications need to be sent direct to the College. Support could include awards, certificates or leadership roles (NO originals please).
• a scholarship application fee $90.00 applies for each application.

Applications for Year 8 and Year 11 Performing Arts Scholarship close on Friday 28 June 2013.

All successful applicants will have demonstrated an ability to identify with the College Philosophy and Aims and show a commitment to the Students Code of Conduct.
