Downlands Hospitality department prepare many students for life in the outside world with a stainless steel training kitchen and great opportunities for a future in this field. The Hospitality students prepare many delectable treats during the year, including themed restaurants where the students prepare the menu, cook the meal, set, serve and clear the table. These are always impressive events.
Our industrial technology and skills areas with high tech tools has been expanded further with an additional shed built in 2008 which is fitted with dust extraction facilities over the sanding tools. Students learn skills that will serve them well in the 'real world', and this year have designed, costed and totally built timber cubby houses, flat packed sheds and ute cages.
With first class cattle yards, the Rural Centre which is based at the eastern side of the College, offers students diverse experience involving various areas of agricultural and horticultural subjects. Agricultural studies at Downlands College are now in their 53rd year!
